IT Digital and Social Media team defines and manages the communication and engagement strategy toward internal and external stakeholders and within IT. It supports other IT functions in building common mindset and behaviours and a wider understanding of IT.
The Head of IT Digital and Social Media develops and implements the strategy and plans for communication to IT employees, IT-related communication to all Nokia employees and selected external communication. Defines guidelines, templates and processes for all people involved in communication to IT employees and all-Nokia audiences (excluding end-user communication).
Location is flexible within Europe
  • Advises and coaches the IT Leadership Team in all communication matters
  • Defines and measures KPIs related to communication.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong network among all functions at Nokia IT and vendors that fulfil communication tasks
  • Leads and develops a small team of communications and employee engagement specialist reporting to him/her.
Employee communications and engagement
  • Maintains and further develops the IT employee communication channels and tools (All-Hands webcasts, e-mails, yammer-posts, etc.).
  • Ensures high-quality and clarity in communication towards IT employees.
  • Executive copywriting for CIO (executive narrative, speeches and presentations)
  • Enables dialogue between the IT Leadership Team and IT employees.
  • Provides communications concepts and implementation for major internal project
Communication to all Nokia employees
  • Defines key IT topics for all-Nokia audience to strengthen the positioning of Nokia IT as a value-creating and business enabling function.
  • Ensures a regular flow of communication on key IT topics to an all-Nokia audience using all-Nokia channels as well as developing new formats if required.
  • Provides supporting material and guidance for IT leadership to communicate.
  • Ensures updated and attractive intranet- appearance of IT organization
  • Enables dialogue between the IT organization and Nokia employees.
External communications
  • Identifies external speaking opportunities for CIO and selected members of IT Leadership Team members.
  • Executive copywriting for CIO and selected members of IT Leadership Team (executive narrative, speeches and presentations)
  • Supports CIO in communication to investors and customers, as applicable.
Other tasks
  • Supports HR in defining and implementing recruiting campaigns and respective content.
  • Supports Vendor Management in their communication to vendors by providing information material on IT strategy, IT organization and relevant projects.
  • Supports End-User communication by providing advice and guidance on tonality and comprehensibility of communication.
  • Supporting training activities by creating understanding for need and relevance within IT organization and all-Nokia, where applicable.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong strategic and conceptual competence in the field of communication.
  • Ability to draft and revise executive communication.
  • Ability to draft and revise communication content for audiences covered above.
  • Ability to lead and develop people reporting directly to him/her as well as guiding and developing the wider network of people involved in communication activities.
  • Effectively builds relationships within a matrix organization to advance projects and ensure compliance (including strong lateral leadership skills).
  • 15 years’ experience in employee communication in a complex international organization.
  • Relevant leadership experience both in formal and informal leading of people.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and to translate it into concrete content.
  • Strong competence in defining and implementing/ensuring processes related to communication activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, preferably including coaching and consulting competence.
  • Good planning and coordination skills including the ability to make things happen.
  • Proficient in English (native speakers preferred).
  • Master degree in knowledge/change management, communication, English, business, information technology, or related discipline

Location: Lisbon (Portugal), Budapest (Hungary) preferred.

Possibly flexible for other locations within Europe
